Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Snake! For those who observe it, I hope you got to spend a lot of time with fam, eat a lot of good food and maybe watch a few lion dances. I didn’t really celebrate, but I did find an old quote from one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman, author of Stardust (got made into movie), Coraline (yes, it’s also a movie), and the epic Sandman series (I hope they make this into a movie, too). This is from a couple years ago and it was for regular new year’s, but it’s appropriate for any new beginning.
“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”
i though tim burton wrote coraline… good movie though!
i just read the wikipedia for stardust. the end sounded kinda corny… i remember when i first saw the commercial i wanted to see it so bad. i still want to see it. how did una get pregnant from a kiss? must’ve been ONE HELL OF A KISS
You’ve never seen Stardust?! You’re missing out.
She brought him into the gypsy wagon.
